Good morning!

Well, after giving Corduroy 1.5 units last night at 145, we had a rough night! It went shooting all the way down to 37 at +1.75! Karo syrup and HC food was involved of course. He's now at 470 at AMPS. As you can see, I gave him 1.25 units, hoping that this will not take him shooting down again today. He's very unpredictable I feel. I don't know how other cats are, but ...

Anyway, I hope everyone has a good day and that your kitties are doing even better!

I can totally relate to your feelings; it's so scary when they drop so low early in the cycle. You did a great job steering the numbers with food, though. And now the bounce begins from those low numbers.....I hated those bounces!

Jersey was unpredictable, too. Sometimes she would surf. Sometimes she would fall quickly. Sometimes she would just bounce for days.

Hang in there!

Good job last night!
And it's good to see some green again.

I hope Corduroy likes his new dose and comes back down nicely.... ( maybe a little less drama)

The more time spent in those greens and blues, the better.

Brigitte - here's the link to yesterday's condo. You asked about amount of karo, and usually it's one or two drops added to LC. Corduroy was sliding down all day and sometimes when kitties do that they keep on sliding fast in the next cycle. But what you did worked and he did surf nicely last night for a while before Mr. Liver got involved.

I hope Corduroy gets over this bounce quickly and eases into nicer numbers.

As for unpredictability, he's not alone. I've been doing this dance for almost 2.5 years and Neko still surprises me.

i suspect he would be less unpredictable if he didn't have something else going on besides "simple" diabetes.

did you see Sienne's comment in yesterday's post about what cancer typically does to blood sugar?

good job handling the low numbers - looks like you did just fine. now he's bouncing - so hang in there til it clears!
