Shot 1.0(fat)

At least he didn't hypo last night and i could sleep more hours. Went up to 1.0(fat) today. We will see what happens. His cycles have been so high and flat (except for hypo) so thought i'd go up a tad and see where he goes on it.

Will try to post later if have time.

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Lori,

If you are around to monitor I would probably just go with 1 unit. The bigger question, I think, is why Copper's cycles are so flat? Not much difference between .8-1.0u but I know he can drop like a rock and go into a hypo situation easy. Can you please outline his diet and feeding schedule?

Diet is 1.5ounces every 4hrs x6times/day. Been trying to only give about 11ounces/day. He had been eating up to 16ounces per day, now he is slowing down a bit. Some days i give him 12ounces if he gets a little hungrier. Been giving fancy feast less than 7%. Lately i have been giving 1/2 0%carbs and 1/2 5%carbs. Basically very low carbs. Once in a while i will give a higher carb FF of 9%. He has been on the same diet except he is getting a reduction now of 1.5ounces.

Does that make sense? He seems very skinny and has lost another pound in 2wks. He hardly has any muscle on him anymore. Trying to get his muscle back some and feeding the higher protein ones and excercising him more. He likes to be lazy when it's cold outside. He would rather stay in the the warm house.

Oh forgot to say where i shoot him at on body. I move around from right to left side every cycle. I try to stay away from the scruff and mainly give on flank/side. I have done closer to his stomach and he does absorb better, but it must hurt him because he flinches so i avoid it. Otherwise he doesn't even know i've stuck him

Wasn't sure really what to shoot tonight. My relion has been coming in higher than the AT, so decided to shoot lower so i wouldn't get into a hypo situation tonight. Need to sleep a little more tonight and not worry about him. I'm sure my amps will be higher, but at least he won't be too low.

I'm sure he went lower today, although it doesn't show it on the SS. I had to leave after +6. He was looking good when i left and wanting to cuddle. That usually is a sign he is feeling good.

Thank you for that information. I know that you also said that all of his bloodwork came back normal, which is great. His numbers are so puzzling. You would think he needs a higher dose but then here comes a hypo situation. It'a hard to make sense of how he can even get to hypo #'s when he's being fed every 4 hours.
One would imagine the food would keep him lifted unless the carb count is too low in the food...BUT...if the carb count was too low then his #'s would not remain flat but would drop as he would have less carbs in his system. His cycles would not be flat. It's odd.
There are a few felines on this board that just play by their own rules, I guess.

YEs, he is a hard cat to figure out. I know that when i feed him the higher protein(fish and shrimp) with low fat and carbs, then his BG goes down. Like this afternoon before i left i doubled his food intake so i could leave him all afternoon. He ate all of it (3oz) in one sitting. It was mixed 0%carbs and 6%carbs. When i did his pmps it had been almost 6hrs since his last food intake and it came in lower than the last week yet. Weird huh? I just can't figure it out. SO i just try to be consistant in his feedings and keep him under the 7%carb rule. Some days he does get more excercise than others. He is a BIG maine coon cat. His normal weight should be about 19-20lbs. He was very healthy then and not fat. Just a BIG cat. His feet are as big as a bobcats. He is weighing in at 17lbs now,

Anyhoo,,,,,Thanks for brainstorming!
