First, Kitty is good--I have only been testing preshots, but for the last couple of days most have been yellow! I have not updated the SS, but I will do so asap!

My work was closed today and we are still in a state of repair in Eastern North Carolina from Irene. Many here are still without electricity. This is a very heavy agriculture area, and the crops have been devastated. But, it is great to see neighbors helping one another. There are many electric crews in our area from out of state and the red cross is set up. So, please continue to keep all in this area in your thoughts.

Now......WHERE ARE ALL OF YOU? I came in for some relief tonight and to read about "our" kitties...no Thumper, no Alex, no Shakes, no Henry, no Shaikha, no Asher, no Callie, no Beau..... Is there a convention somewhere? Is that where you are? Have you gone to LL? Is every cat OTJ? Where are you? confused_cat confused_cat confused_cat

So glad to hear that Kitty is good and that you made it through the hurricane alright. I was thinking of all the east coasters over the weekend and hoping/praying everyone would be alright. So scary, especially when you see the pictures on the news.

So relieved to see a post from you! Isn't it wonderful when a community comes together to help one another.
How are your parents? Will they be able to repair their house?

Hey Marcy! My parents are okay. It is very challenging, but we had a crew of workers at their house today---starting the recovery.

The tree on the house will be removed by a crane this week. The good news is there is little structural damage to the house and it will be repairable. They have generators and are doing okay.

My mom is already planning her new "gardens"---always a good sign!

Very good news! I'm glad she can look beyond it all & plan her gardens!

About 1/2 the city is still without power here. I did have to go to work today & many of my co workers were glad to come in since the A/C was going! Hearing all their stories made me even more thankful to have power!

I was a little worried about Denise after hearing about all the flooding in NJ. I know she was supposed to go to Canada today & she did post on my thread yesterday the sun was out at her house so I guess she was able to still go.

I wish I was at a "convention" wedding plans are gonna get the best of me!

Good to hear you are good, well as good as one can be after a major disaster!

Tell your Mom I envy her planting new gardens, I am planted out! Herb gardens, more roses! I love roses! so many choices .... are you going to help?

So if your work is closed, are you going to take a vacation? I hear Arizona is nice :)

Hey Nancy.....where is my wine? I never received it...did you send it to Ginny?

Whew! Awesome that there wasn't any structural damage to their house. It's always more devasting when something happens to our parents.

How did your beach house make out?

It's Monday, after 5:00 p.m. and I'm ready for a nice glass of wine. drinking24
Cheers!

Wine must have gotten caught in the storm! but my grapes are starting to ripen, I can always do an episode of "I Love Lucy!" .... the one where she stomps on the grapes!!

Nancy, it's no wonder the wine didn't get there in time, you havn't even stomped the grapes yet.

I'm glad everything is coming along nicely. Yes it is a lot of hard work, but worth it especially when it's our parents.

Here we are!

I have been stopping in trying to keep up with everyone, but not much time to post or update the online spreadsheet. I have a lot of photo work after getting back from volunteering at the folk fest.

So glad you came thru this ok Kim, and glad your folks seem positive about the rebuilding. Seems like all us east coaster pzi folk were spared from really rough stuff this time around, thank god.
We just had a very minor roof leak into a closet, some sunflowers came down, we lost power for about an hour or so, and I had to postpone a shoot on Monday since the client was without power due to a downed tree a few miles down the road from him. Very small damage indeed.

So glad to hear that you and miss kitty are ok
VERY glad your parents are starting to repair already and talking of new gardens

we made it through the storm but lost internet, cable and phone sunday and still dont have it
dont know when we will either, so I ahve to log on from work

The trip to Canada was cancelled but it is ok cause it was a work thing anyway.

hope to talk to you all soon

Densie and Shakes

Hey Kim,
Glad to hear things are OK.
No wine delivery here!!!!

Alex and I will post today, but we were tired last night.

Hi Kim, glad to hear there was no structural damage to your parents house and it can be repaired.
And how lucky your beach house is undamaged.
I was too tired to get on yesterday after a day of running around to doctors appointments.
Cool Kitty is doing good!
