Still getting the low numbers from Kitty...
AMPS (tid) 141 waited 2 hours..... 203-- shot skinny 3 units (down from 3.2)! Still looking a dose to keep the 8 hour cycles consistent. I love the lower numbers, but during the week the long inconsistent cycles create havoc!
Some of you have asked, so here is a Sally (dog) update.....Sally is feeling well and the pancreatitis seems to be improving. If she was a cat, I would say she is getting too much insulin, as her curve has gone from a smile to a frown since increasing from 7 units to 9 units of N insulin-- and she might be getting to much insulin--time will tell. But, from my research, it appears that some dogs do have "mountain" curves. In fact, people love for their dog to have these curves, because you know the lowest number is a shot time and you don't fear the mid cycle low numbers. Sally was getting low readings early in her dance, but she was eating very little--and only boiled chicken and hamburger. When she first started eating well, she had to eat a low fat diet due to the ptitis, and once she started eating the perscription food--- her numbers started increasing. The vet told me yesterday to start replacing the pancreatitis diet with a diabetic diet. She indicated the pancreatitis diet could be contributing to the higher numbers. So, yesterday, I started the new diet and her preshot was down 100 points this morning. Who knows?! Not me! Tomorrow, she goes back to the University vet hospital for more blood work and ultrasounds, so maybe I will have better direction after her visit. It is very frustrating, but hopefully in the long run it will be rewarding! Thanks to everyone for the concern...it means a lot!
Wishing everyone a Great Day from a chilly Kittyville......
