Hi I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with this injections?? Or any antibiotic injection for our Sugar Babies??? Thanks!

worked great to keep infections away from Catcat after 4 extractions ... reduced the inflammation I'm sure as he was eating like usual, that evening and on through the next week

OHH Thank you I Googled it and some of the comments got me upset!! I feel better knowing that he did well on it Thank you!:bighug::bighug::):cat:

I believe the issue that a lot of people have with it is 1) in the event your cat does have a reaction to it, it is going to be in your cat's system a long time, so that would be bad; and 2) it is sometimes given for things it is not even intended to treat. It is primarily intended for skin infections. I know from our dental specialist that it is also appropriate for some dental applications. (I have to add that Mia had it for a UTI when she was first diagnosed with diabetes, and it worked. Don't know if that is considered an appropriate use or not, but it did work.)

Both of my girls have had it without issue.

Here is what Dr. Pierson says about it: https://catinfo.org/?s=convenia

Thank you:bighug: Amethyst had 3 chunks of skin peel off of her behind Our Vet can not see her until Friday 1PM EST She told me she is going to give Amethyst an injection because she does not want Amethyst to have to wait for ones given by mouth to work I do not know if this is what she is going to give her I am going to call her tomorrow and ask Yes I read that it stays in the system a while I am glad it worked for your little ones:):bighug:

Our civvie Molly has gotten a couple of these injections over the last year for stomatitis and it really seems to help. I was fully aware of the risks, and discussed it with our vet, but we decided it was worth it for her and fortunately she had no issues with it.

That's so scary, I hope that she is doing OK until Friday. I see she already takes Gabapentin, so I hope that is helping her with pain. I am sorry that I am not fully versed on Amethyst's history - does she have Cushings, or is this related to Acro? Just curious.

Regardless, prayers for her that she isn't in pain and you can stave off an infection.

ECID. Bama had it about 5 months ago for feline acne and it was no help. I was thankful he didn't have a bad reaction to it. I would agree to have it administered for future issues if the vet recommends.

I have uses Convenia (vice oral antibiotics) for my cats if they were very hard to pill or if they had extensive dental work and I risked disturbing the stitches (or other sensitive areas) when pilling.
