Hi,
I just saw the estimate for Lolly's dental, they are doing three extractions and they are giving her Rimadyl injection and a Convenia injection.
Dr Lisa Pierson recommends against Convenia injection for antibiotic. She says it stays in the body for two months so if there is a bad reaction (which have been reported) you are in trouble. Also she says it's not the best for dental bacteria. She recommends clavamox, says there is s liquid form.
Any thoughts on this? Her mouth will be sore and it won't be pleasant getting the clavamox down her, but I can do it if that's safer.
I read that Rimadyl is a NSAID for arthritis in dogs. Has anyone heard that it is good for oral pain for cats?
Thanks
