I can't believe what I just discovered. I've been bribing Beenie with turkey at testing and shot time because she loves it!! I save it as her special treat. It's Boars Head no salt added turkey from the deli. Nutrition label says 0 sugars but I decided to call Boars Head to confirm. Well it' s NOT zero
Apparently if its less than 1 gram per serving they can label it as zero.

So I'm going to boil chicken at home as her new special treat. Just wanted to share in case anyone else out there is making the mistake I was. So now I'm curious to see what her numbers will look like now that I take out her sugar laced turkey. Unbelievable.

I know that feeling! I recently noticed that the beef baby food I've been giving as a treat now has 4g of carbohydrates. Label says zero sugar and zero starch however on the ingredient label, it now contains rice starch along with the beef and beef broth. Nothing like sending out confusing messages! Unfortunately, here in Canada, at least in my area, there is only one brand of meat baby food available.
