Constipation

Hi friends, any remedies for constipation? He's been making some noise lately when he poops. They are small hard bullets. Thanks in advance.

Miralax (or generic) unflavored 1/8 tsp 1-2 times daily; should mix well with canned food (or sprinkled on raw). Note Miralax works by drawing water into the intestines, so best to add a little extra water to food when giving it.

Is he dehydrated? Constipation can be secondary to dehydration, in which case fluid therapy can be helpful.

Thanks THH. He had a looser stool this morning. He might be a bit dehydrated. However fluids are hard to give. With this increase in BG numbers, he's been drinking more and peeing more again......

If you're not already adding extra water to his food, that may help his body cope with the higher numbers until the insulin increase starts working.
