Copper is having so much trouble with constipation. His poop is hard as a rock. I know that has to hurt. Is there anything i could give him to help out? Mineral oil, olive oil? I know that the food doesn't help. There has to be something to help the poor guy out. He is struggling with even keeping butt in air because of his neuro and now he is struggling to even get it out.

I think that folks here have used a couple spoonfuls of canned pumpkin to help with this. I’d post on health and see what people say. It is a common problem and I am sure people have some tried and true ideas for diabetics.

Mineral oil works well for constipation. I use a large syringe minus the needle to get it as far back in the mouth as possible. The trick of the game is to pull about half as much oil into the syringe as you want to actually go in (I aim for ~ 1tbsp to go in, so I draw ~ 2tbps worth). It also does wonders for hairballs, poor coats, and dandruff. Remember to have a damp cloth with you for immediate wiping - it stains sheets & mats the fur if too much of it gets onto an awkward spot for the kitty to clean.

That would work if he likes the way it tastes. But it would possibly not work as quickly. If you give it to him between meals, it will probably get to where it is needed faster.

There are paste things available, but many of them are "sugar-based" so they taste good, which is not an option for our sugarcats.

callie has the same problem what I do is mix about 1/4 teaspoon of miralax in her food and add a little water to the food , its tasteless and it works for her !

Thanks everyone on the advice. I might try the miralax first and see if that works.
