OK, I'm confused about smokys numbers today. I haven't had a chance to post them to his spreadsheet yet. Is there a way to just replace current SS with the updated one? His AMPS was 265 and his PMPS went up to 289. His numbers were showing up as lower in pm than in am. I have to do his pm shooting in about next 10 minutes. His am dose was 0.5 so don't know what happened there.

The spreadsheet automatically updates....when I click on your link, I see today's test results....AMPS 265 and PMPS 289 (not sure why you have the 289 in the +11 cell too though)

did you not get any tests in at other times today?

It's a big help if you get at least a mid-cycle test to see how low he's going, but the AMPS and PMPS today look pretty normal...they're about the exact same number really

That's how insulin usually works....they start out high, you give insulin and they come down...then the insulin starts to wear off and they start climbing again and it's time for the next shot

I couldn't do a mid day test today, my mom had car trouble and I was helping her out today.

I'd probably stick with the .5 for now.....1U might be too much since he's not terribly high and I know it's almost impossible to do .75 on U40 syringes without half unit markings

I'm guessing it's OK to give him 0.5 units tonight. I'll be able to do a midday reading tomorrow, thinking at +6 hours following AM shooting.

To draw up .6 of Vetsulin in a U100 syringe, you'd go to 1.5

.8 would be 2U on a U100 syringe

so .7 would be between the 1.5 and 2U lines (IF the U100 syringes have half unit markings!)

Yep, there is only one in my town so everybody shops there. Do you think it's better to do a +4 or +6 after AM shooting? I noticed when I tested him one day at +7 he dropped from 288 to 173 on 0.5 units

Vary it...at this point, there's not enough data on Smoky to know how long the Vetsulin is lasting

Some days do a +4, some a +5, +6, etc.....Think of your spreadsheet like it was a puzzle...if the only "pieces" you have filled in are along the edges (the Pre-shots) or straight down the middle (always only getting a +6) it makes it hard to tell what the picture is

If you have pieces (tests) sprinkled throughout, the picture becomes clearer

The only days I can do additional testing are my days off work, usually Sunday and Monday. Right now I am on vacation until Wed morning so I can take a little time.

I really don't know enough about using Vetsulin to give you a lot of advice about when would be "best" to get more testing in

I know @Critter Mom used it for awhile....maybe she can help or knows someone who's using it now

OK, I will check around on the board. Thank you for all your advice, not much sleep lately. I tend to ramble on when they happenso_O
