My poor little butt has higher BG lately so we brought him to the vet.

Motor now has "caution" stickers all over his chart. He apparently is DONE with people trying to get blood from him. So now he gets sedated for any procedure.

All this being said - they wanted to get urine from him, but he had an empty bladder so they asked us to get it.

HOW DO I DO THIS??? I don't mean to scream, but um? Any help would be great! Thanks everyone!

If he will pee while you are watching, you can stick a ladle into the stream as he is going. If not, and he goes in about the same place, you can scoop out some litter and put Saran wrap in the hole. If all else fails, buy aquarium gravel, put it in a clean litter box and leave him in a room with it until he goes.

Vyktor lets me use the spoon method to collect but before I'd heard of that I used to leave his tray (cleaned and rinsed) empty and he would eventually use that. I then discovered that he was happier to go sooner if there was something in there so used cut up plastic shopping bogs intead of litter and he was quite happy with that. On this forum I have also heard of someone replacing the litter with uncooked lentils. You just want something non-absorbent so you can get the urine. Don't forget to clean the litter tray first!

I'm assuming they gave you a sterile bottle to pour the urine into once collected. Once bottled you should refrigerate it unless you are going to the vet immediately.
