You did great! Give yourself credit, take a deep breath and welcome to the group!
Now that you are a testing expert, I think you made the correct decision to cancel the curve vet visit and take care of that at home. You will save lots of money, not to mention Cleo will be less stressed by being tested at home.
Something else to keep in mind, now would be a good time to put the hypo kit together. As far as food for it - Fancy Feast makes a gravy lover's variety and a few cans of that is perfect. As far as karo syrup - not everyone has that in their pantry, so any simple syrup product will work - pancake syrup, jam/jelly, even table sugar melted in water and a squirted with a syringe into the mouth or mixed into food.
Now, big cup of coffee or tea for yourself and remember you did great!
