Hello Lantus Land,

I'm incredibly sad to have to make this post, but I felt it was better to post than to just drop out of sight.

My dear Cleo, after almost 3 months diagnosed with diabetes, crossed over the rainbow bridge today, sometime while I was at work. It looks like she had a peaceful passing, as if she just laid down to sleep and never woke up. I guess we could all do worse than that.

I will miss her terribly, but I know she's in a happy place now, filled with all the ice cream she can eat (and not just when her blood sugar drops!).

My thanks to all of you here in Lantus Land, who held our virtual hands on our first scary night with Cleo on insulin and kept us company during the boring days, the frustrating days, and the terrifying days. I'm not going to name names because I'm sure I will unintentionally leave wonderful people out, but I really think this is the most caring and helpful group of people I could have ever found. Thank you for all of your help and support during our battle.

I'm so sorry. You must be in shock. I went back to read Cleo's Profile and it sounded like other than the diabetes, she was, apparently, healthy. Cleo decided it was her time.

Kathy - I am so terrible sorry! My deepest sympathies. What to say.... I know you will miss her terribly, wonder on the why. I guess it was simply her time. Rest well knowing she was able to choose the time of her passing. Fly free little one,you will be missed, never to be forgotten. wings_cat

I remember you very first post so vividly and your first few low cycles too, and I remember feelijg so touched at the depth of your love for Cleo, which just seemed so palpable as you wrote about her. I am so devastated to read this, and utterly heartbroken for you.

I am so very sorry for this sudden loss of your darling. Please let me know if I can do anything.

I'm so, so sorry. Tears for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Kathy. That's so sudden, it must be really hard on you. to go without being sick and suffering is what we all would want though for ourselves as well as our loved ones, so she was lucky in a way.

Kathy, I'm so sorry to hear of Cleo's passing. Take comfort in knowing that you gave Cleo a safe and cosy home with lots of love. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear this tragic news. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I know in my heart that Cleo is with you now to comfort you and will always be there. She will always and forever have a place in your heart.

We will light a candle to guide her. Gentle journey sweet Cleo.
 
I am so sorry. I wish i could make your heart stop hurting. But only Cleo will be able to put a furry paw on your heart and make it feel better. I hope that day comes quickly. Sending you only happy memories. and lots of love that i hope helps.
