Leo received a clean bill of health today, with the exception of his BG being elevated. He was around 350 at the vet's office but that was expected. His white count was not elevated, and showed no other signs of infection that could cause the jump in his sugars. The vet said his heart sounded good, his kidneys felt good, so those are things to be thankful for.
I held off on giving him a dose tonight-by the time I was home and tested him (we used our last strip this morning so I had to restock!) he was down to 228 on his own. So I'm playing it conservative...we'll see how he looks in the morning. Since BF's shop is where we live, he's there and can test all day. I was thinking if he's still around that level in the morning, I can give a quarter or half unit and see how he reacts-he was very sensitive to insulin last time, and I don't want to drop him too far, too fast. Thoughts?
