Baby has had one dose of this & now has lost her appetite with insulin on board nailbite_smile

Clavamox is somewhat known for causing upset stomach.

I usually mix it into food rather than give it separately.
Seems to be tolerated better that way.

My Charlie is allergic to clavamox. He stops eating and starts vomiting. My vet said that's relatively uncommon, though. But all ABs can cause nausea and diarrhea. I was on a human AB a couple months ago and had awful tummy issues. That's a common side effect. Be sure to monitor the bg level closely, as not eating can wreak havoc on the numbers and you have to use extra caution when dosing the insulin. Maybe next time try feeding first, then giving the clavamox. I know that doesn't help you now. Is there anything special that you can entice her to eat? Some chicken or fishy treats or something?

Thanks, I am going to monitor closely & not give a 2nd dose. Vet had given Baytril (successful in the past) & historically never an issue pilling her. However, this time she fussed & fought the pill - tricks of the trade & pill pockets do not work for her. She goes Bananas for forbidden treats (Temptations, Greenies) & is even refusing those right now. I will wait this initial dose out & then see if I have any options tomorrow (Sunday) thank you...
