Trying to get a urine sample. The vet couldn't get it so they sent me home with some plastic litter. She's been locked up since around 2. She has water and food. Should I just leave her there? She's not interested in the water or the food or using the box. I hate to leave her there all night...just wondered if anyone had any tricks.

You might try 15-20 minutes of active play to trigger the hunt, catch, kill, eat, eliminate, groom, sleep behavior cycle

Just give your cat time to get used to the new litter, some cats are easier than others, just be patient. Try it again tomorrow.

I finally let her out and caught her in her litter box. She was a tad horrified but couldn't really stop mid pee. Sample is in the fridge ready for the vet! Honestly not sure we need to test anymore but going to anyway since I had to stick a cup under my cat while she peed

They said her heart seems fine. They think the X-ray was weird because she's still a tad overweight. Thank goodness!

Thanks to all. You've been my family since Gypsy was diagnosed. I just come here automatically for help. As my BF put it, I don't think I can take burying another cat yet. I'm so grateful for your help with my civvies.

We're glad you did. ;-) You must know that even though Gypsy is at the Rainbow Bridge, you are still part of the FDMB family and always will be.

Glad people helped you with advice on getting that urine sample for your civie,
