I know I've been m.i.a again, but I've been having relationship problems and Mr CFB is off to the Phillipines for up to 6 weeks on Wednesday and we will talk when he gets back. I think it will do us good to have time apart but I don't know how he will feel when he comes back.
Anyway today we have been at the emergency vet with my 2 year old Birman, Bonnie. She doesn't eat much an I thought she had lost weight when we came back from Mexico. She seems to have been eating even less than normal. Yesterday she threw up a horrendous amount and it absolutely stunk like human sick. She then went out, came in later then threw up grass.
She wouldn't touch her cat food this morning so I gave her some chicken breast and then after chatting to the vet we took her in and she has lost half a kilo in just over 5 weeks. I was terrified it might be her kidneys but bloods came back clear apart from platelets which they think was a false positive and they are repeating. They are also testing for pancreatitis which I think is unlikely as they are all on an ultra low carb diet. They've given her some food to build her up and she's had some of it but not as much as I would like. I've to take her back in a week to repeat the platelet test, and if she's not putting on weight, she has to have x rays and ultrasound. Thinking of keeping her in with a litter tray for a couple of nights so I can check her wee and poo. I hope she's ok, she's such a sweetheart.
