Civvie Urinary Issues

Hey guys,

Looks like I'm back to the vet in a bit. My civvie Elektra is exhibiting the same signs she had 2 weeks ago of urinary issues...except worse. She's hanging in the litter box a lot but when she's not there, she's straining to pee anywhere. Walls, carpet, etc.

Vet opens at 10...going to call then and ask them to work her in. On a side note, why does this always happen on a Sunday when there is an emergency fee? Ah well.

Any advice or suggestions are welcome. It concerns me that this is happening again and leads me to believe this isn't just a UTI. Cross posting on health for more eyes, but wanted to post here too since I know you guys best.

So sorry to hear about Elektra, Rachel. Seems our civvie's are having issues this week. :( Hope you find out what the problem is and Elektra feels better real soon. :bighug:

Update, copied from Health:

They checked for bladder stones, said they don't believe that's it, but it'll be sent to a specialist just in case. Yeah, I sprang for an xray and radiograph...I already expected that since she hadn't been cured last time. They had some problems getting her urine, but got a bit. She's going to look at it, but said more likely we're going to have another course of antibiotics (which I expected) since in this case, it may just be that we didn't treat long enough last time. Anyway, she's going to check out her urine and call me back. She called now because they had to sedate her to xray her (she's NOT friendly...to anyone...even me. I told the to sedate her if needed and I'd pay. Hate to do it, and I wouldn't for anyone else, but she wouldn't be testable without it. In good news, got her nails trimmed out of it since she was already under.). Thanks for the good wishes and advice everyone! I should know about pH and everything after she's had time to get through the urine sample.

Also, thank heavens for Care Credit!
