Got the call from the vet's office with regards to the blood work from this morning. Only did the work for the kidneys as we were concerned about the beginning stages of kidney failure. She told me this:

bun = elevated due to dehydration
So, what I'll do is add a tsp. of water to his meals. He WAS drinking a lot more water over the weekend, but he's not drinking nearly as much now. Not sure why. She'll call me when they get the lab results in probably next week. At that point, we'll go from there with regards to meds, if needed.
Total so far is $100.00, and with the lab work, we're looking at another $80.00-ish. They won't be able to tell me what the cost will be until they get it. He's worth every penny.
