I recently took my 5 y/o Maine Coon in for his routine teeth cleaning. We’ve known for at least 2 years that he has a heart murmur, but it hasn’t bothered him,,,no coughing, no signs of edema, eat/drinks ok, eliminates ok and is playful. I’d love to be able to afford a cardiac ultrasound and appt with a specialist but that is out of the question right now. When they did the ECG as part of his anesthesia pre-op, they called and told he had a right axis deviation. My vet went on to say that as long as he continues to act ok and his labs are ok (they were) that we can just watch Toby . I really don’t understand the “axis deviation” and what it means to Toby in his life ahead. Can anyone explain?
