Is there any issue with diabetic cats being on Cisipride?

Thanks.

An old time member named Phil and Lionel was using it for Lionel successfully, I believe. I don't think he posts here, but maybe you can do a Search on the old board or Google his name. Unfortunately, I am not sure the Search function works that well on the old board but you can give it a try.

Here is one thread I had on file where Phil weighs in on using Cisapride. It is long, but he posted down the thread a ways. Hope this helps a little.

I believe Cisipride was removed from the US market and possibly other countries for humans due to safety concerns. Is this being prescribed by vets now? Or are you outside the US? I'm just curious. Thanks.

I'm in the U.S. Vets have been using it here for a few years at least. My other cat was on it several years ago.

Only for human use. It can cause heart arhythmias when combined with certain antibiotics. It is still widely used in cats for chronic constipation due to IBD or megacolon. My Minou is on it (as well as Miralax) for IBD. She is not diabetic, though.
