I have so much going on right now, and Taz has stopped eating most of his meals since Sunday. We're currently giving cerenia and bupe but I think the bupe makes him feel worse (headache?). I've been giving cerenia daily since then and I know you're not supposed to give it longer than 4 days (it's compounded). We're also syringe feeding him.
He is impossible to give pills to and knows when we hide them in things. We try to give him ondansetron but I think the dosage is too high, so we split the pills in half and I think that dose is too small. We have also tried gabapentin. I can't tell if anything is working at this point or what works best for him. He'll walk up to his food dish, maybe nibble, then walk away. I think he has an aversion to the food now because my husband had to give him high carb yesterday and he scarfed that down.
Between poking his ears tons of times (he's dropped low twice since Saturday), force feeding him, and shoving medicine down him 4 times a day, he's avoiding my husband and me like the plague. My husband wants to give him higher carb, just so he'll eat on his own. I'm thinking about possibly getting a feeding tube placed but that would only be a last resort. I hate pancreatitis! I don't know what else to do for him. Any recommendations for a food that might entice him to eat? He's currently eating Friskies pate.
