Why is it that for eleven months out of the year, the toys aren't touched, and then suddenly the kitties hear Christmas music, and the toy mousie that's been on the floor for ???? long, is in full action mode?

maybe the cold is giving them a little nip time for the nip?

Sneakers is still lying around though so she hasn't got it yet.

Can I post here? I don't have a gray cat....

Might be that they are finally getting stir crazy after all the doors and windows are shut for the season. He had nearly 70 degrees just 3 days ago. Not it's barely breaking 30.

I have two gray cats, so I think I'm supposed to post here. *LOL*

My two feline boys are really enjoying the cooler weather and having doors and windows open instead of being cooped up in the AC-closed-down house. They both are taking full advantage of the wider wood I installed on the window sills so that they can sunbathe there. And now that I can open my curtains without letting in too much heat, Pumbaa loves our games every morning when I let him chase the reflection from my watch on the ceramic-tiled kitchen floor. He's such a spazz, I wish I could get a video of this! Since it's been cooling down into the 60's and 50's at night, I've put out the kitty afghans and sweaters that they snuggle in, and Pumbaa loves the nest I made him on the pillow next to me...and they both love sleeping on the afghan that I put over the back of the sofa for them. Even Beck (the drooler) sleeps on her platform doggie bed more often now, instead of on the cooler tile floors.

'Tis the season for my two cats to be happy that the house is no longer 82 degrees! I think we all have more energy now that it's cooled down here in Arizona!

I have one grey kitty so I'm in.

My thermostat went from 90 to 59.

We like to have seasons here and that way the indoor only kitties snuggle in a big pile and get all plush and thick.

I have about 70 pounds of kitties trying to push me out of bed. All 5 boys want on the same pile.

I LOVE to hear the stories of everyones' kitties and their response to the weather change... and then there's the kitty mosh pit! Just makes me smile!

My sunroom (living room) has 9 windows on the SW of the house. It's unbearable during much of the summer, but this time of year, you should see the pile of kitties chasing around the sunspots! The couch is filled, the floor... and if the door is open, the warmth fills the house (well, somewhat - it's an old house with tall ceilings). Anyways, they sure love sunny fall/winter days!!!

We all have to be sure to add comments when we start trying to wrap Christmas presents and the kitties all want to "help". Hahahahaha!

I have a hard enough time with just two cats, so I want to know how people with many cats deal with this, without locking themselves in a separate room when the wrapping paper and ribbons come out! :)

Sheila, I, too, make catnip toys regularly, using old remnants of sewing fabrics! I never thought about making and sharing these for Christmas presents! What a great idea!

I think Sneakers would love a SW facing window- but I don't really have on that isn't blocked by something big and heavy.

She may join the plants on their desk, though, in the middle of winter.
