Posting here for a friend in the Atlanta area.
I have had my cat Mika for almost 4 years.
She was a rescue adult cat from PAWS Atlanta. She had been returned at least twice.
She has always had loose stool no matter what I feed her.
When I first got her, I had a job that allowed me to come home for lunch each day. Shortly after, (about 6 months) I changed jobs and was gone for 12 plus hour a day for 4 days off for 3. After 1-1/2 years of that job, I was laid off and home all the time for 9 months. I found a part time job that lasted about 5 months, then laid off again for another 8 months. In March 2011, I finally found a full time job where I am gone for about 9 hours, Monday thru Friday.
Lately (about a month and a half ago) after my male landlord came in to fix by bathroom she started pooping on my bed. Since her stool is runny it is fun to clean up.
She has never gone to the bathroom outside the litterbox.
I have taken her to the vet and she checked out ok She only needs to have her teeth cleaned.
As far as food she is getting Nutro Natural Choice dry food and canned food Oceanfish flavor. She also gets Whisker Lickins treats, maybe about 10 a day.
She has been pooping on my bed, clothes, shoes, rugs etc every other day it seems.
I play with her pet her and hold her the same as always. She has every toy known to man. Her litter box is scooped twice a day.
I am at my wits end with her and her pooping all over everything. I am very tempted to take her back to PAWS but I am attached to her even though she has been bad lately.
If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. My next step may be to get a crate for her during the day but I think that would make her more unhappy!
Thanks Christine
Part 2: (sent Sunday afternoon)
I got all the way to the Humane Society and wimped out I just couldn't bring myself to take her in. Maybe the close call will make her behave. She will spend the night in the bathroom. I'll let you know what happens.

Jon's comments:
Christine called me late Sunday evening in tears. She is at wits end trying to determine how to fix the "problem". In all, Mika has been a great addition to Christine's life who adores this calico. I get e-mails with photos of Mika....
I have suggested a condo for Mika to live in while Christine is earning a living. It's not a very good thing to lock up Mika, but much better than the alternative in a cage at a shelter or worse PTS by the humane society.
Any thoughts or suggestions will be much appreciated!
I will forward all replies directly to Christine. I hope she will surf on over here and sign-up for the board.
