I gave Little Bit beef liver pure bites tonight and he started trying to throw up a couple minutes after! He dry heaved for awhile and got a few pieces up, but now is walking around trying to gnaw on things. He doesn’t want to eat or drink. He has been in the litter box and is now resting in the bathroom on the cool tile. Advice for something possibly stuck in his throat!?!!
Do we skip his insulin!? It is due right now.

No pawing at the mouth. He has eaten a few bites of fancy feast and about half of a fancy feast fresh tuna treat. He has also urinated in the litter box since. My gosh he gave me the scare of my life!

They are hard and big! I broke them into smaller pieces, but think he was so excited he swallowed them whole! I mixed some more FF with water and I would say he’s eaten at least half a can. Probably more and is grooming now. He dry heaved around the house for what felt like forever. Everyone beware of the beef liver pure bites! Makes sure they’re super small. You think the entire 2.25U dose is safe since he’s eaten? Also have to give him his inhaler.

When I used the freeze dried chicken treats for my girls, I always broke them up and moistened them with a bit of water to soften them (it also seemed to make them more aromatic too). Perhaps try that next time. Glad to hear he's okay.
Thank you<3 I will try that, but this bag is going to my sister’s big dog. He can handle them better than my little kitty.

Sissy choked on those once badly too. After that I dumped them onto a paper plate and then cut them into small pieces. When they are gone I doubt I will buy more. She and the dogs all LOVE them...but the choking was scary. We're going to get another bag of the Stella & Chewy freeze dried rabbit next. They are soft and you can easily break them into smaller pieces to make them go farther. She likes them straight out of the bag, but a time or too when she wasn't interested in food I have rehydrated a few pieces and put them on her food and she gobbled it up.

Oh my goodness, I’m so glad she’s ok! They should put a warning for cats on the bag. So frightening.

It was frightening. I had broken them into smaller pieces but apparently they weren't small enough. When I cut them with the knife a lot of them crushed...so I thought about crushing the rest. I've sprinkled the crushed bits over her food and she loves it that way too. Ours were the lamb liver though not the beef, just skimmed your first post and noticed I missed that the first time. I imagine the beef ones are just as hard as the lamb though. :/

I pinched them into smaller pieces too, but you’re right, they’re so hard, I don’t think it was small enough. The only way I’d ever offer them to my cats again would be to crush them into a fine dust.

I cut them so small they are just barely slivers. lol I think crushing them is the best idea though. I will probably do that. I've also done the freeze dried chicken and the first couple bags they were really soft and flaked super easy...but this last bag I got they are really hard too! I've been giving them to the dogs. :/

Try the Orijen original treats! They’re really soft (I still pinch them up some though) and all of my kitties like them! I think I’ll stick with those and the fancy feast tuna bites. I do have the pure bites shrimp, but none of my crew cares much for them. Even when I soaked the shrimp in water. No one is spoiled around here at all! :p

I have to stick to single proteins that I know she's not allergic too....she's got food allergy issues. :/ The Stella & Chewy's are really soft too and I know she won't react to the rabbit.

Lol about them being spoiled...ours have all been rotten! :D
