Chlorepheniramine for allergy

My Gouda is on this (4mg tablet split in half twice a day). He was always on and peed twice a day but his diabetes wasn't controlled like it is now. I don't have a spreadsheet yet cuz I've just been at the right diet and testing for a week and a half bit on human meter he's preshot in the mid 100s and +5 nadirs in double digits. Question is is it possible to only pee once a day while on the chlorepheniramine right now? It's been about 20 hours since he last went and the only change was me adding the pill back in after having time off from it.

Drugs.com lists acute urinary retention as an adverse side effect of this med:

Phew!

I don't know whether this might be helpful to you but when my Saoirse needed antihistamines our vet prescribed Piriton for her and her peeing was fairly normal (caveat: she had stage II CKD and I also added a teaspoon or two of water to each of her meals - 8-10 mini meals per day, food moisture content c. 84% as fed).

Thanks. I called and left a message for the vet a bit ago and when he gets out of an appointment the girl is gonna run the info by him. After this happening I really don't want to give him anymore. I mean he's super regulated and only peed twice daily before this, but once a day seems crazy.
