Chip hit green on Levemir. On less than 30 units! :thumbup

Less than three actually. The first breakthrough was staying yellow for more than 24 hours after settling 2.25U. First time for that since Lantus.

And now on the 6th cycle of 2.5U, the legitimate dip to green. So those are settled doses. @-)

Gives me some hope he might be regulated on less than 6U. Perhaps less than 4? Interesting the nadir seems to be right where I thought it should be.

I was really beginning to fear 30 units of Levemir with 14 units of R twice daily to crack this. (Antijinx) it will take a little less than that. nailbite_smile

Kudos to you and HOORAY! for Chip!!! What a good feeling when suddently you see something you've missed for what seems like ages! That's how I was this week with Grayson's blues! They were a long time coming, which made them even sweeter!

Hope it continues for you!

So chip decided to roll around in the green grass and it stuck? Good for him :-D

ETA:
And I AM near 30u, so I know your concern...

Its nice to see "normal" diabetic cats respond together normal amts of insulin. I'm. sure its scary to see some of us w insulin resistant kitties too, but fear not... the majority of kitties respond to low doses. Wishing you continued successes w Lev.

I've been looking at that pretty close. Before Chip is regulated and I can stop cranking up the dose, I can't completely rule out IAA without the test. He's already rather high for most "normal" kitties on Levemir.

It wasn't that many months ago Grayson was getting green on .75U ProZinc. Better than I can say for Chip.

But congrats on making it back with only 40U! And that little well planned vacation in the Rockies.

So this might mean Grayson is closer to smashing the IAA? flip_cat

Said totally facetiously, of course (lest we have any inexperienced readers think they might end up at 30u simply because their cat is not currently regulated on 1u or something).

Right, Dale?

Tilly says not to worry about it until you get over 5U Levemir, or 10 units of Lantus. I'm already more than half way there.

And we all watched Sneakers and Grayson, as they started out with normal doses of Levemir. So no, not entirely facetiously.

And there are also IAA cats who don't have acro, and they use high doses of Levemir combined with R to break the antibody resistance.

It must always be reached using protocol, once the acro and IAA test results are known. And they must be testing closely and constantly to be ready to rapidly retreat when the resistance breaks.
