morning....am I the only one who’s seeing the forum in Chinese writing? Both iPad and pc are coming up this way.....I’ll wait to see if the bug is removed

I reported the spammer and sent a message to Robert and someone else Jill had mentioned. Hopefully they'll take care of this!

FYI, you can click on the spammer's name, then choose to go to their Profile. In the top right corner, there's an ignore button. If you hit that, you won't see their posts anymore (which is a giant relief to me!!).

How do you know who the 'spammer' is when the entire forum (except for a few posts) are hacked? It will get fixed in time...........hopefully some of you are not in desperate need of help and can wait

You can click on one of the posts, then onto the person who made the threads name - then your see the Ignore option. For this section, there seemed to be only 2 users who posted things, so the Ignore cleaned it up fast

This is crazy, I have reported each new name that appears and have hit ignored so I can see the real posts here. It has changed my FDMB name on my favorites bar to Chinese Forum!! WTH???

I curse you Spammer with a chopstick in the eye!

So, I was curious about what it said.. I used Google translate to figure it out and it turns out it was from a company in China that makes and distributes fake College Diplomas. They also sell a whole slew of other false documents.. Transcripts, certificates, and even public official docs. I haven't been able to track down the actual company, just the spam we get on here.

Haha. I thought I was the only one. Too funny.

Every time I log in to FDMB my browsers (Safari; Firefox) display the warning: "this site is not secure". I brought this to Robert's attention (@Robert and Echo ) several months ago and he replied that it was only insecure if you were reading it on a public wi-fi connection. He also said that he was going to fix the problem. This Chinese thing seems to be an indication that our message board is indeed not secure. I think we should be very careful with our posts until this matter is addressed.

All boards can get hit in this way. Normally it comes in waves.
It doesn't mean the board is 'insecure' .

What is wise though is to not share personal details like email addys publically as spam bots can pick these up.
Also , it is best not to click on spam links etc as it is from this that a spammer can pick up your details.

Common spam bombs. False Documents & ....erms....Love Gerus.

Well, here is one thing that I don't think we think about on a daily basis. I know I don't. We all post here every day and its one big community. We see it as one, too. Sort of like a private home.

But, anyone on the internet can read this information we post. Anyone. Mike, the guy who drive the rental for me hops on to check posts every now and then and he is not a member.. So, I don't think we should be putting personal info on there anyways. Phone numbers, ext...

@LuvinThisPig youre right! Just about anyone that knows how to get info on the www can. No offense! My son has drilled into my brain to never open a link, message, e-mail etc. If you don’t know them, Because they could send a virus, bug, trying to access personal info. It is to the point of an alarm going off in my crazy brain saying; Alert Alert! do not open! Brainwashed I am. Lol
