 ok, ready for this? wash them, cut them into bite size pieces with a sissor and serve raw!
yep, your heard me right. It's gross, but the kitties seem to LOVE it.

Start small. Maybe like one ounce...or 1/2 what would fit in a ff can.

Dear Hungry Kitty,
My Sugar Bean got them both ways. She would tire of raw for some reason. I would use a very small frying pan, pam it and cook on low heat for about 10 -15 mins including flipping. Cut up w/ sissors and serve. I would cook up about 1/2 the container, store in fridge.

Yum. Livers.

Lori, I am shocked you didn't share the recipe for livershakes!

Carl

oh Carl, I really needed that smile. I am having a hard time right now.
Lori

The most enjoyable thing about posting here, for me, is the occasional "smile" I get to prescribe. Glad it worked!
That "liver" thread from months ago is one of my all time faves...
Carl

can you dig it up and bump it. i want to see it. i hate it here right now.

Livershakes? yummmm (not!)

I would like to see the condo too...

P.S. Revson says thank you Lori and everyone. He likes liver! Of course, his buddy Inky did not. CATS!

Amy

Bumped up upon request, to help with another thread regarding "liver".
Carl

This may be sad for some, and bring happy memories to some. I've always felt it was one of the all-time best threads during my 6 months on the board.

Lori,
Remember the happy parts. A lot of wonderful beans chimed in on this one, and said some really terrific things. Everyone did such a good job of pulling together.

Hey Amy, check out the link on Carls last line in his post. It was this past summer's discussion on liver shakes and such. You might enjoy it.
I know I did. With a touch as sadness as my sweet boy Tom did not make it.
Lori

Too much liver can cause vitamin A toxicity in cats, http://www.felinediabetes.com/phorum5/read.php?8,91590 I would only feed liver, raw or cooked, once in awhile as a treat. I think it's generally suggested not to feed foods that contains liver as the very first ingredient. Hills and/or Purina puts a lot of liver in their foods. I don't know about using liver as a part of a homemade raw diet.

Here's the liver shake recipie for sick cats: http://felinediabetes.com/FDMB/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=30432

I know that too much liver causes metabolic bone dissease in the virginia opossum. Is that the same thing or close?
