We put all three cats on low-carb, high protein canned food when the oldest one looked pre-diabetic and was found to be hyperthyroid. The other two are youngsters, just now hitting 2 years old. After seeing the vet today, we need to let one of them supplement with dry food. I would like to keep it to the best possible dry food, so we don't end up with problems when she ages. However, she is evidently allergic/very sensitive to chicken. Gets the stinkiest poops in the universe, and goes to very soft poop if not outright diarrhea. As we've played with various foods and flavors over the last year and a half, we have no doubt that it's the chicken.
Sooooo....many "fish" flavors are actually also loaded with chicken meat, chicken meal, chicken by-product meal. We had gotten some Dr. Elsey's Salmon flavor, but ingredient #2 is chicken! I've recently had eye surgery #4, and have complications on the complications, so I'm not really up to doing extensive ingredient research. Can anyone help me out and recommend a decent dry food that keeps the carbs reasonably low (remember this is a young, not diabetic cat) and has NO chicken in it? Please?
