Chicago Vets for Clovis

Well I spoke with my vet about my Clovis and he wants to switch me to humulin insulin. I was on the fence about PZI (bovine) cause I had heard good things about that insulin but I don't think I want to switch to humulin.

Does anyone in Chicago know of any good vets that are open to tight regulation with lantus on cats?

Thanks,
Sandra

Try posting in Health and community as well, you may get more responses. There are sever members listed in the chicago area, members list, upper right in the header. Don't know the etiquette here about PMing this kind of request though.

I'm going to PM two Lantus landers that I know live/work in Chicago... one of them lives and works downtown... is that close to you?

Yup, sure do. I use Cat Hospital of Chicago. They are on Irving Park Road (2851 W. Irving Park Road). Check them out on Yelp. The only negative remarks are about cost. They are pricey but offer top of the line care. They recommended Lantus for Gabby despite the intensive care internal med vet having put her on Humulin N. The vet I really like there, Holly Pohl, commented that N is good for dogs, not cats! They also understand pain management. It's a very calm environment especially given that it's a feline specialty practice.

They also have a website.

Yed - donwtown is close enough to me. The Cat Hospital sounds great too. I'm definitley gonna check this place out.

Thanks everyone.
