Chi Chi/miscalculated dose time for DST

Ugh! I do not know how I did this. I figured it wrong when I thought I should adjust for daylight savings time tomorrow. I gave her shot a half hour later instead of earlier today. This means she will get her shot tomorrow 1 and a half hours early. I have to leave no later than 7:30 am! I gave her shot at 8pm tonight, and an increase also of.25. Can someone on this forum that reads this let me know if I should reduce dose tomorrow am, or do I just wait til test time to see what her # is and then decide. I don't know if anyone will be on here then. I normally post on Relaxed forum, but wanted to see if I could get some eyes on this tonite. Thanks

i did the exact same thing - diligently moved punkin's shot time and then the day before realized i'd gone the wrong direction! ohmygod_smile

i think if you're way off and not home to monitor, i'd probably just skip the am shot and get back on track tomorrow evening. Chi chi will be ok.

not sure how much you know about lantus, so forgive me if you already know all of this, but do you know that lantus dosing is based upon the low point that a dose gets a cat to? without knowing the low point, it's pretty difficult to know what to do with the dose. many people who work during the day get a "just in the door" or "running out the door" as well as a "just before bed" test. It's amazing how much clearer things become so you know what to do with the dose when you've got a few more tests in. i think of the spreadsheet like a jigsaw puzzle - you've got the edge pieces in, but without anything in the middle it's hard to see what the picture really is. It is a challenge managing a diabetic cat when you're working full-time, but there are a few tricks that can really help make it easier.
