Cheaper test strips in UK

Hello,

I thought I'd share this info as I only found this out recently. I use an Abbot Freestyle Lite BG monitor (fabulous, only needs a very small sample) and if you contact them direct, they can send you test strips and lancets at a much reduced cost (even cheaper than ebay). You'll need to pay VAT as it's for a cat, and you'll need to request and invoice if you intend claiming on your insurance, but postage is free and next day delivery. (no, I don't work for them:))

Their new test strips are even more efficient and a pleasure to use. Every little bit helps.

regards,
Kay

Hi, from Abbott about £16-17 incl. VAT as opposed to about £28-£30 at the chemist. Thing is, the insurance won't pay postage, so when i buy cheaper online, it actually costs me more cos I pay 15% PLUS the postage, which is more than 15% of a higher value item....

That still seems a lot, but haven't seen any Abbot on ebay.

You can get Accu check aviva ones around £7-10 plus postage off ebay and it only takes a small drop of blood.
One touch even cheaper but does need drop more. Their test strips can be used beyone exp date whereas Accu check can't (microchip in them)

Hi, I haven't heard of that model - when Cattro was diagnosed they recommended the Freestyle Lite, so I just bought that, a sI had to get everything in a few hours ready to start treatment that pm.
