Today has been a rollercoaster for sure. This amps was lower than his usual average and now the afternoon shows higher than normal! I even waited an additional hour this morning before shooting him (was this a bad idea?) He normally gets his shot at 8 but today I gave it at 9, we are supposed to be going to see Bruno Mars tonight (yay!) and a friend was going to come over to shoot Charlie for me at 9. We are not going to see the opening band because I don't want to be gone from the house (for Charlies sake) for longer than necessary and wont be leaving until about 7 (est) Should I shoot him then or wait for my friend at 9? I can test him before I leave but she cant test at 9...please advise! Thanks everyone!

Looks like his high numbers are indicating a bounce from this morning. We want to as much keep to a 12 hour schedule but the wonderful thing about ProZinc that it is a little more flexible insulin. I have shot as early as an hour prior to Merlin's scheduled time (i.e. 11 hours) and an hour after his scheduled time (i.e. 13 hours). So if you need to shoot early, it should be ok. Although, it is better to test, but when you can't, at least you know that his PMPS number is going to be high so he should be ok with your regular dose. If I couldn't test, I would usually dose with a conservative amount but you got some good tests prior to your PMPS. Also, you should be getting home in good time to test him before nadir. Have fun at the Bruno Mars concert!

Oh, also, you may want to leave a little food out for him. If he was to go low, some cats can self-regulate themselves (know when they are dropping) and will eat to slow it down.
