Charlie has been here a week and things are going great. I probably will be bumping up his dose to 1 unit in a couple more days. He is on .75 right now. I am already starting to see some improvements. His coat feels better and he is putting on some weight. His neuropathy is also showing signs of improving. Fortunately he was was not in bad shape when I got him so I think he will continue to improve quickly.

He has met all of the cats. Right now he is in the spare bedroom but when I am in there with him I leave the door open so the other cats can come in. There has been a little hissing but no real aggression from any of them. This week he will get to start exploring the rest of the house while I am with him. Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.

And best of all, yesterday he let me give him a belly rub. :cat:

Hi Lisa thanks for the update on that cutie! I'm glad there's really no aggression going on with the other kitties. Just curious why there is no testing after his PMPS :cat:

Awww...the belly rub privileges made me smile!!

(I wouldn't be doing my job if I didn't remind you to get before bed tests.)
I know. The problem is that with his schedule is his AM/PM is around 8:30 and I go to bed shortly after that. I have several very early meetings every morning for work and feed the pets right after them. So to keep his PM shots on schedule it is later in the evening. The good thing is I now work remotely so at least I can roll out of bed before my first meeting, but that is still very early. :(

Good mental health almost always mean good or improving physical health. Charlie knows he's in a better place.
As for the belly rubs. I first saw Marco in a Petvalu and the next morning we zoomed to the shelter to get him. He wasn't in a crate, just sitting by himself in the corner. He didn't make a fuss when I picked him up and rubbed his nose and ears. When I flipped him over to rub his belly he melted into my arms. That was quite a shock to the head of adoptions and after a few questions she told us we didn't have to fill out the three page adoption form, just a name and address and we were good to go.
Trust goes a long way with any animal, momma loves you Charlie!

Charlie met my vet today. He was very pleased with everything and told me to keep doing what I am doing.

Charlie was a champ and even gave my vet a head bump. :cat:

Keep you fingers and paws crossed. Tomorrow he gets to roam freely around the house. Hopefully everyone will behave.
