charlie suddenly eating again??

My charlie suddenly stopped eating 4 weeks ago. His BG numbers were good and have been good this whole time. I took him to the vet and he got appetite stimulant. Didnt work. Took him again and got pain meds. Didn't work. Got some stuff to coat his stomach and it made him sick. He lost a pound over this month. I finally came to peace with the fact that he was probably dying and decided to let him enjoy his last days. I took him outside a few times over the weekend and on Monday. Monday evening he seemed to get his energy backand he was crying for food. YesterdY he ate a good amount and this morning he ate a half a can of the prescription a/d. Is this normal? To not eat for a month then all of a sudden start eating? I don't want to get my hopes up too much.
 
Thats odd. Maybe he ate some grass in the yard and threw up whatever was bothering him? Enjoy it while it lasts...

How have you been feeding him for the past month? Has he eaten today? How does he seem otherwise?
 
I have been feeding him buffet style with a few options everyday. He ate a good amount this morning. Like a third of a can. Over the last month he really didn't act sick which made me think he was ready to pass on. He seemed at peace. Since he started eating again on Monday he has been meowing a lot and doing things he usually won't do like sit on the kitchen chair and climb on some boxes we have sitting around. He did his trick for a treat the first time in weeks.
 
Like Wendy said, maybe there was something else going on with him like a blockage that he's cleared out? This all sounds like he might be over whatever it was that got him down for the last month. I really hope so for you guys. :-D
 
I bet he ate some grass, that stuff does wonders for kitties. I make sure mine have some fresh grass to nibble on every day. Hope Charlie keeps his appetite!
 
I'm going to start letting him outside a little bit everyday. It seemed to do the trick and I bet he ate some grass!! Thank u everyone and I really hope he continues to eat!
