So ever since I've switched his diet and started home testing, Charlie has not needed his Lantus. Tomorrow morning will be the official 2 week date from his last shot (which I only gave because I couldn't get blood, and gave a reduced amount anyway). He has been in the low blues and greens, and with his 4 feedings every 6 hours his BG is pretty stable. Whole cat report is good, and no trace ketones yet. Also, his coat looks better than it ever has! So what does everybody think? I'm going to test again tonight in a couple hours and then tomorrow morning and then...OTJ party?? Is there anything else I need to look out for?

Wow, spreadsheet is looking pretty good to me. This is awesome news!

I would keep testing at least once a day (you won't be able to quit cold turkey anyway) just to make sure. And hold on to the insulin until it expires. If a day does come when you need any, it sure beats the heck out of having to buy a new vial that'll go to waste.
But yes, I think it's time to dust off the party hats and give the dancing shoes a rest.

Just popping in to say my fingers are crossed... and also "Charlie got into the scones again" made me giggle.
