Hi guys. Not sure why Charlie's numbers aren't doing much today. I didn't take him to work with me Bc his amps was high so I just came home to check on him. He's acting great just wish the numbers would level out.

Re: Charlie amps 441 +5/434

Looks like he might still be bouncing from the lower numbers from yesterday. I hope this is the "high" before the bounce breaks and he'll start coming on down this afternoon and evening for you.

It's great news that he's feeling well!

Re: Charlie amps 441 +5/434

Bounces are inevitable after those wonderful numbers yesterday. It's been a while since Charlie has been that low. Bounces can take up to 6 cycles to resolve. The good thing is that he got to stay home today and you don't have to worry about him. I've noticed people say before that cats don't seem to feel as bad from high numbers due to bounces vs. not enough insulin. Hope the ketones tests are still coming up negative.

Hello friends. Charlie's +10 is 413. I know we have tried not to use R but I don't know if it's advised now that he's been in the red all day? If I shouldn't give the r i won't I was just checking in to see what everyone thinks!? Thanks!

Hi there
Charlie seems to be floating down gently.

:?: :!: What is the ketone situation right about now?

My $0.02-
Regarding R, short of the appearance of ketones or something else about him appearing "off", I say wait out the bounce, it may be clearing.
If you give R when a bounce is clearing, there is a strong possibility numbers will dive.. . and trigger another bounce.

I'd wait it out too. Might be another day+ of higher numbers, but it does seem like bounces are not as hard on the kitty as not-enough-insulin high numbers.

If ketones re-emerge into the picture, that might change things, although not if the bounce was expected to resolve soon. You still wouldn't want to use R then.

good! it's better than he come down slowly - the too fast of a drop (more than 50 points an hour for sure, maybe even a little less) is guaranteed to set off yet another bounce.

:-D
