I will start a new job on the 28th at 3:00pm my boss knows about Corky's dosing at 4:00 AM and 4:00 PM
but I might have to change his schedule. I it's not a danger for him or if it is possible how can I do it?
I will be requesting 2 between his afternoon dose with split schedule, but if one day interferes with his dosing> that's why I ask.

It is not hard to change the dosing schedule. You can walk it back 15 minutes each cycle or 30 minutes once a day.
I don’t understand the second part of your question.

Mayte sent me a PM and I'm going to reply here.

To clarify, the adjustment for shot time applies to only one day. In theory, Bron is correct but it also may depend on what insulin is being used. What Bron described is typical for glargine (Lantus) or Levemir. Shorter acting insulin can be more forgiving than the depot insulins.

To be honest, I don't know how to give reasonably accurate advice without having information in your signature about which insulin you're using or a spreadsheet so I have some idea how your cat is responding to the insulin that's been prescribed.

thank you I am trying so hard since yesterday morning to get this spreadsheet going, I'm stuck, not savvy technology wise I downloaded Google Drive and that's where I'm at if anyone wants to walk me through it on the phone here is my number ( Maria, Thanks

SS and signature block done.

Maria…let us look at your data & then we can suggest a plan for Monday.

One immediate suggestion... Can you start getting a test before you go to bed every night? Many cats experience lower numbers during the PM cycle. You don't want to risk Corky's numbers dropping and you're being completely unaware. In addition, if you don't test at night, you're missing half of your data.

actually, I just did Margie suggested that I need to feed him several other small meals during the day up to bed time I just posted his last reading for the night

From a PM:
i am extremely concern about the erratic changes in Corky's numbers 11:00PM last night, it's a constant up low very low, this is my 2nd shot of Kero today I even fed around 10:30PM from 1 hour to the next it has gone from 60 to 142
I just thought it could be my fault since I have been using the U100 syringes this has been happening, perhaps I've been dosing wrong, I was told that for 2.5 I had to go to the third line of the syringe, I just received the U40s and the Prozinc please advise her next dose is at 4pm I don't know if dosing her with such low numbers and up to what lowest number do I do don't dose I posted those low on the spreadsheet the afternoon #'s and they were removed.

We try to keep everything public on the board. Everything here is "peer reviewed" to make sure you're getting the best advice possible.

I really think it's possible that the 2.5U dose may be too much for Corky. For somebody so early into treatment, having him drop into the 50's is too low. Maybe later when you have a better understanding of how insulin works but this early, you might want to plan on reducing his dose by 0.25 any time he drops below 90.

With this all being so new, and you having your new vial of ProZinc from DCIN, you might want to consider dropping back to 2.0U since the new insulin may be stronger (depending on how long the last vial was "opened") .

Let's see what others think!
