Certified low glycemic foods

That's good, unless they use it to justify inclusion of pea, bean, or other vegetable ingredients in the diet for an obligate carvivore.

You need to watch out, though--just because something is low glycemic does not necessarily mean it's very low in carbs. California Roll and Thanksgiving Day Dinner are a bit higher in carbs than we recommend for diabetics (16 and 12% carbs respectively). Bandit has been doing fantastic on Merricks, but there are certain flavors I don't feed him because of amount of vegetables in them. Also, Surf and Turf is missing from their low glycemic list for some reason, even though it is almost identical in composition to Cowboy Cookout.

I do have to say, though (based strictly on my observations of Bandit's BG after eating these foods), that Bandit can tolerate higher carb versions of Merricks (Grammy's Pot Pie at 8% and Turducken at 9%) with no problem, but I can't feed him Friskies (7%) or those dry, low carb EVO treats (8%) without seeing spikes in his BG. So some ingredients do seem effect blood sugar more than others, at least with my cat (ECID!). It would make since that this would have something to do with whether the foods contain low/high amounts of glycemic ingredients.
