Aloha!
I posted here a few months ago (6 or so) because my 10 year old cat, Mochi, was diagnosed with feline diabetes and I was pretty overwhelmed with the whole process.
One of my big issues was the fact that I had to hire a vet tech to stay in my home if I went away for vacation or any other reason overnight. That ultimately worked out, although it was pretty expensive.
But Mochi's units of insulin have been going down from a high of 5 to recently; one and a half. I took her into our vet yesterday and he tested her, and said that I should stop the insulin due to low numbers - I will take her back in two weeks to be re-checked, but he says it seems that she has gone into remission, which is pretty amazing given the high insulin dose she started on.
I know that it could come back - but for now I am so happy that she is well and doesn't have to go thru all the shots and blood testing! Also maybe I can have a vacation or overnite trip without hiring the vet tech to be at my house!

Just wanted to share this - since it seems to be fairly uncommon according to my vet! Happy dance for Mochi!
