Mischief is covered in crusty nodules all over her body. So far 3 of the vets in the clinic I take her have never seen anything like it. Last week we had a biopsy done and the results still do not give the vets a definite answer. The one I am working with is going to contact a dermatologist to see if they may know.

One of the possibilities they did give was that she may have a food allergy. I would be surprised at this since she has been eating the same brand of food, Friskies canned, for the past 15 years. She also is not itching and scratching the bumps. However, just in case, I thought that I would check with this board to see if anyone has had a cat with food allergies. If so, are there any brands that you found helpful in keeping it under control? Since I have 7 cats, they would likely need to all change foods since they go from bowl to bowl when eating.

Squeaker had food allergies. Sometimes I wondered if it wasn't the result of multiple health issues after his first major crisis. Unfortunately, the only food that worked for him was Hill's Rx d/d. It is high in carbs so I don't know if you want to go that route.

Squeaker was in remission and it didn't seem to affect his glucose. He was on the d/d strictly for about 6 months, then I transitioned him back to Friskies and never had a recurrence. However, due to variations/substitutions of ingredients from batch to batch and just generally speaking, an allergy can "seemingly" crop up out of nowhere.

You might want to try Instinct Limited ingredient...they have a lot of novel protein canned options. A friend of mine had this issue crop up with one of her cats and changing the diet from a food that had byproducts (I think she was feeding Fancy Feast) to the Instinct LI cleared it up. That said, it may be a little pricy to feed all 7 cats, and it doesn't come in big cans. Any way you can feed Mischief seperately from the others?
