My sisters cat may have irritable bowl disease. All of the tests the vet ran came back normal so that is what the think is causing Sasha's chronic diarreah.

Does anyone have any recommendations for treatment and food that may help. Currently the vet prescribed DM for food but my sister said it really is not helping.

Did her vet mean IBD? I don't hear of many vets diagnosing as IBS anymore. Normal blood work won't really show anything whether it's IBD or IBS. There are medications for IBD for nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. Usually a hypoallergenic limited ingredient diet is recommended and a canned wet food. Dry food may be too hard for them to digest. Medications can include metronidazole, prednisilone, budesonide, forti flora and other probiotics. It really all depends on what the exact diagnosis is and what type of tests have been done. My kitty had an endoscopy to determine the extent of his problems and resulted in a diagnosis of mild IBD. He also has had abdominal ultrasounds to determine what his intestines look like. Some people treat without all the extended tests and diagnose on symptoms and exclusions of other things.
I know my cat has done pretty well with a single protein duck diet and no hard food. He gets metronidazole for any runny bowel movements.

Digestive problems in cats can be frustrating. It's good to have an experienced vet who treats these problems on a regular basis and knows what to look for.
