Hi, J has been passing quite hard poops, which this morning were like marbles, yesterday a log, and straining a little. She is still passing poop once every 24/hr. she has good water intake and is eating wet food. She's gone off her air dried kibble. She went off her usual food a week ago which meant we had to change her food straight away rather than slowly introduce the new foods, not ideal but had no choice. What can I add to her diet to help her? Thank you.

Normally when you switch from dry to wet can food, because there's not much waste in the food and is digested your cat's litter box routine will change, instead of pooping every day, J will probably poop every other days, and the change in diet can be also a cause for constipation, you can pick up MIRALAX, over the counter at any pharmacy, and put 1/4 tsp in twice a day in the food, in about 3-4 days the pooping will be better, or you can also ask your vet for Lactulose is liquid, place in the food the same way, the change in diet actually should be done slowly, to avoid a glucose level change with low readings,, it is important to test before each shot and at least 2-3 times during the day, with ProZinc the protocol is TEST-SHOOT-FEED, and feeding several small meals or snack between the day to keep the insulin in check, I see you use the Alpha Trak, you might want to purchase a human meter such as the ReliOn Premier monitor and strips, it is very inexpensive, and so are the strips, (Walmart) the strips for the pet meter are quite expensive, please keep posting we are here to help you in any of your concerns, I will tag a member that can also assist you in dosing

Hi, ok good to know thank you. Yes diet change was done with pre-shot, +2, +4 testing AM and PM to ensure numbers didn't go to low with the switch. With snacks after +2, +4 test. I have just purchased a accu check meter (ReliOn isn't available in my country) Marje is helping with the spreadsheet atm. Thank you I will look into Miralax.

Awesome! She’s the best, she helped me from the beginning with Corky, I thought I was going to lose him, but I followed every advice and instructions she gave me, and here we are! Corky could not be healthier and tightly regulated, Ieverything I have learned I’ve learned from her and this site, I am very greatful 😉🫶
