Hi everyone,

Did anyone notice when you switched your kitties from dry to wet food there was some weight loss? Trying to figure out if that is normal. One of my two cats developed diabetes so we slowly removed dry from both of the cats diets around Feb 2018.

I noticed more weight loss with my civvy. He likes the wet food but he is more picky about the wet that he eats so overall he appears to be eating less. It's hard to really compare how much he ate when he was on dry vs. wet so it's just my best guess that he is eating less now that he is on wet. I noticed he dropped about 1/2 pound over the course of three months (that's when we made the switch).

Has anyone experienced something similar? Thanks!

Both my civvies lost weight when we switched to canned.....and they both needed to lose weight!

They are both at a much healthier weight now and their coats are in much better shape too.

If your cat is losing weight they can't afford to lose, you'll need to feed them more (easier said than done, I know)

My civies all lost weight when I switched them to wet low carb food , they didn't exactly needed it but still they became more active and their coat started looking better and they got even more hair not that they need this one either but

Our civvie has lost noticeable weight since switching both of ours over to wet. My mother commented at Thanksgiving that he was getting chunky so it was needed anyway. I wish Zulu would lose weight that easily (I wish I would too, actually..). Since remission he's put back on all the weight he lost from when his diabetes was unregulated. I think (hope) though that some of the new weight is muscle and not all pudge.
