I have a cat named Chicken. I feed Wellness canned chicken to her usually. Two of my other cats eat raw. If Chicken eats raw food, she projectile vomits it after about an hour (this is a new thing). Before she was eating raw just fine. Lately she has been vomiting in the middle of the night her canned food. I thought maybe chicken was the problem, so I bought Wellness turkey, but it also has chicken in it. I bought some Merrick BG beef and she didn't vomit, but did get diarrhea. I have caught her drinking in the middle of the night the past couple of nights (if I use the humidifier, she doesn't drink in the middle of the night, but I forgot to turn it on). Her BG is 53 and she has never had diabetes.
I was wondering if slippery elm bark might help soothe her stomach. I've heard of people using this. I do leave food out all night (I always mix water in with their food). Where can I buy slippery elm bark and do I buy it in a powder form or liquid? What about dosage?
Chicken has lost about 1.25 pounds since the beginning of December when she was diagnosed with vaccine associated sarcoma. She went through 21 days of radiation therapy from the end of December until the end of January. During that time she lost the weight while fasting. She is on 1mg. of cyproheptadine every couple of days to help stimulate her appetite.
We are trying to start her on CCNU chemo, but her white blood count is a little low and has been so for a month now. I have no idea why and the doctors aren't concerned.
I want to do everything I can for her.
Thanks,
Jenny
