I totally jinxed myself for posting that he was doing great, ugh. My 12 year old Cosmo was just recently diagnosed with diabetes, kidney disease, and pancreatitis on January 2nd. He's currently on 3 units of Novalin N twice a day which has been working fine for him. We went with a low protein diet for the kidney disease since we were doing insulin for the diabetes. At first he didn't really like the food so I got the okay from the vet to mix it with his old food which was already fairly low protein and he's been gobbling it up. A check up at the vet last Thursday told us that the diabetes was under control and his kidney levels were still not good but getting better, so we got the peace of mind that we are on the right track.
So now, he was doing totally fine but for the past week, about every other day, he's been throwing up in the morning. I've gotten smart and I've started waiting about 45 minutes after eating to give him his insulin because there's no rhyme or reason as to when or why he throws up, but it's a lot. It seems to be almost everything he just ate. I'm going to call the vet today to see what he thinks, he's not gotten any insulin this morning or two mornings ago. I just find it very strange that it's only ever the morning that we have an issue with (at least for now).
