Hey, Mike, we asked the same thing! We bought a plant and fed Kitty a leaf. He ate it. Didn't seem too terribly excited. I wonder if the dried catnip is more potent?
Well since catnip is technically an herb then drying it should contrate the oils in the plant thus making it more potent. I know when cooling if you use 2 tablespoons of Fresh thyme in a recipe you can substitute 2 teaspoons of dried thyme because the dried is more concentrated. I would think the same would hold true for all herbs including catnip. I knw my bunch is much crazier over the dried stuff than the fresh.
My father in law has catnip growing wild all over his property so Jinx gets it fresh outta the ground. he freaks out (in a good way) when we give it to him. I am wondering though if it dosent have an effect on his BG because I had him pretty controlled all day yesterday then gave him a catnip reward at night and his BG jumped 120pts FYI we just found out our Jinxy is diabetic about 10 days ago
