Hi all,
I've seen prior posts about other cats developing dermatitis on Lantus and am curious if anyone knows if switching insulin resolved the problem? Mango is new on Lantus but we've also changed his food twice (once from Hills TD to RC Glycobalance then to wet Fancy Feast Chicken Pate after finding this group. He goes to the vet on Thursday which will be the first time they've seen his spots but I'm guessing she will blame it on the FF and ask me to switch his food again. Any luck with other wet foods that don't have traces of fish in them assuming we should avoid fish and chicken? His dry foods previous both had chicken as a main ingredient but it's hard to know changing food the same time we started the Lantus. The spots are just below his scruff where I am injecting (not right at the site) but close. Just want to be armed with as much info as possible before the vet. If switching insulin has been proven to help I'm not opposed to "starting over" with a new med. He is not itching or scratching at all so I'm positive it's not from ear mites or fleas. And he has gaine .5 lbs the past 8 days so he likes the FF and we are thrilled with the weight gain!

You want to find canned food identified as LID (Limited Ingredient Diet). For example you can get Duck, Venison, Rabbit and maybe others too. Some have veggies like green peas so calories may be a little higher.
