Hello all, I am brand new to this message board! I suddenly found my cat unresponsive on the couch a few months ago with pools of vomit around her and took her to the emergency room where the internal medicine specialists diagnosed her with pancreatitis and diabetes. The pancreatitis is pretty much resolved (after a long and very difficult recovery!) but the diabetes seems here to stay. I was sent here by the feline diabetes Facebook group to help get some dosing advice. :)

Welcome to the board. What a wonderful picture of Sunkist! It will be helpful for members to have more information on Sunkist before they can make dosing recommendations. I am giving you a link to tell you how to create a signature that will be appended to each of your posts so you don't have to repeat information.

Take a look around the different forums and get more comfortable. Lots of information and a tremendous resource of caring, knowledgeable and experienced member to help.

I think I made the signature, hope it works!
Signature looks good, are you home testing yet? Testing goes hand in hand with giving insulin, so you know how the insulin is affecting her, and help avoid hypoglycemia events since you are working on changing her diet. At least I think I read that you were working on it. Post in the Main forum for input on home testing.

Yes, I home test at least twice a day before the shots.

Just an update - the vet (who is an internal medicine specialist) says she thinks Sunkist is starting to go into remission and she says with too much insulin, you get insulin toxicity. She actually said to give her only 1 unit once a day and re-curve in 2 weeks. Has anyone else had an experience like that??

You really should take this question to the Lantus Forum where it can be seen and you can have educated responses. Just copy and paste if that's more convenient. The forum we are in is essentially the welcome mat and might not be seen as much.
